Mouth Cancer Action Month

Mouth Cancer Action Month is a campaign that aims to improve the awareness of the symptoms, risk factors and early warning signs of mouth cancer, helping to improve speed of diagnosis and survival.

  • It is estimated that over the next decade around 60,000 people in the UK will be diagnosed with the disease. Over 1,800 people in the UK die from mouth cancer every year. Many of these deaths could be prevented if the cancer was caught early enough
  • Mouth cancer can often be spotted in its early stages by your hygienist/ therapist during a mouth screening
  • Make sure you have regular visits
  • When brushing your teeth, if you notice red or white patches, or ulcers, that have not cleared up within 2 weeks, book an appointment to be on the safe side.
